Well, we at least know that David's on 10.4/powerpc :-) (powerpc-darwin8)
Unfortunately, xcodebuild -version isn't quite as informative (at least
for just getting the version directly) on 10.4 as on 10.5 and later.
You can get the same information from the fink xcode package, though
("fink list xcode").
