No, it wouldn't. As it turned out, the situation is worse than just an X11 problem, because also a couple of basic *.la files in /usr/lib have gone missing. It would, of course, be possible to enhance that script so that it regenerates *all* the *.la files that were present in Leopard, but somehow I don't think this is a good idea.
