Sorry for the duplicate posting but the last seemed to go out empty.

With the release of Xcode 4.2, we will have to be alert to package breakage
due to the newly enabled TLS support in clang under darwin11. This issue only
occurs on the darwin11 SDK using llvm.org's clang 2.9 or svn under Xcode 4.1/4.2
or with the clang3.0svn from Xcode 4.2. If you find out that your package now
fails its testsuite when built under Xcode 4.2, first try passing the configure
option, --disable-thread-safe, if available or -mmacosx-version-min=10.6 on the
compile flags if not. We have already found this problem exists in MPFR 3.1.0
under fink 10.7. Unfortunately this code is GPLv3 so Apple can't look at it
directly. Thus it would be very helpful if we can identfy another fink package
which isn't GPLv3 that exhibits the same problem to give Apple's developers
something they can work with directly. FYI, this issue exists upstream now as...
http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=11111.
