This problem is due to the /sw/bin/oct-cc installed by the
current fink-octave-scripts
package having...
case $osversion in
1[123])
COMPILER=/sw/var/lib/fink/path-prefix-clang/cc ;;
instead of
case $osversion in
1[1234])
COMPILER=/sw/var/lib/fink/path-prefix-clang/cc ;;
