Just a note. I was re-installing fink from scratch just using the ./bootstrap and it hangs while downloading bzip2 http://distfiles.master.finkmirrors.net/distfiles/bzip2-1.0.6.tar.gz
The file seems to download the whole thing immediately and then hang at 99% complete. The same URL hangs downloading in Safari as well.
