I guess you must have fink setup to use the unstable directory for the
updates?  Because system-tetex-20010808-3 is only in unstable at the
moment.  You shouldn't be too surprised if there are problems with packages
in unstable, and we fink developers appreciate feedback about that.

(I personally do not have unstable listed as one of my fink trees; when
I want to try something in unstable, I copy it to the local tree.)

The error message gives you a clue about what to do.  Since there is a
conflict between this package and lyx, you might try uninstalling lyx
first, then installing system-tetex-20010808-3, then reinstalling lyx.
As the system-tetex package maintainer, I would appreciate a report on
whether or not this was successful.  (I am working on a fix for this
problem.)
