Do you have the auctex package description or not? What does
find /sw/fink/dists -name auctex\*
give you? If it's not there, you have to get it via CVS ("fink selfupdate-cvs").

No. In any case, you have to "fink install auctex", i.e. you have to
compile it yourself. There is no binary package (yet) on the fink site
that you can get via apt-get.
