Hello,
I have a binary distribution of Fink. I have tried to run 'fink
selfupdate', but that failed with the following message:

--------
 > fink selfupdate
rm -f LATEST-FINK
curl -L -s -S -O http://fink.sourceforge.net/LATEST-FINK

I will now download the package descriptions for Fink 0.3.2a and update
the
core packages. After that, you should update the other packages using
commands like 'fink update-all'.

tar -xzf -
^C### tar failed, exit code 2
Failed: unpacking packages-0.3.2a.tar.gz failed
--------

I have interrupted the tar command after a long period of waiting. I
presume this only works with the source installation?

Then I tried to update the package using the approach suggested in the
instructions for the Fink 0.3.2a binary installer package (.pkg). That
is, to select 'Update' in dselect. However, this is the version reported
after that:

 > fink -ver
Package manager version: 0.9.6a
Distribution version: 0.3.1

I am using the 'stable' installation source. Is 0.3.1 the latest stable
distribution? Or is the updating mechanism broken? I think that latest
stable is 0.3.2a ...

Thanks, I appreciate your advice.

Good luck.

Rudy
