You were right about the "sudo esd"
When running "sudo esd" i get sound test in the headset and the
following message in the terminal window:
[unknown_2:~] gunnara% sudo esd

using device Plantronics headset for output:

with sample rate 44100.000000, 2 channels and 32-bit sample
It stays there and i open a second window for starting simph323. But the
i get the same error as earlier:

When i look in the /dev directory there are no audio there. Any
