One of the main reasons I installed Fink in the first place was to gain
access to some of the excellent *NIX utilities available on the net. I
particularly wanted a current version of SPICE so I could work on some
amplifier designs that have been waiting on me for years.:-)

Anyway, I downloaded the Spice package from unstable, compiled and ran
it. Voila! It seems to work just fine. I haven't seen any other
reports on this package in the archives, so I thought I'd post here (and
incidentally find out if there was another place to inform the
maintainer; I could not find any contact info on the Fink site). I'm
running OSX 10.1.3, the latest Fink, OroborOSX and XDarwin, on a G3/450
with 576MB of RAM.

The only concern I have about the current build is that while you can
kill 'help' windows with no problem -- there's a button for that --
there is no way to kill a graph output window without terminating the
spice3 app itself. Probably something that is also a concern with the
original distribution rather than an error related to the port, but it
does mean that you have to quit and restart spice after your screen gets
cluttered enough with plots. :-)

BTW, a huge thank you to the Fink maintainers for what they've done.
