This one isn't that hard.  If you keep your original .deb file around, you
can reinstall your package almost instantly (no compilation required) by
incorporating the version number in the 'fink install', i.e. 'fink install
<package-name>-<version number>', or possibly 'fink install
<package-name>-<version number>-<fink port number>'.  The downgrade will
usually happen automatically.  If not, you may have to do a 'fink remove'
followed by 'fink install'.  You can do this without moving any files around
or editing /sw/fink.conf again.
