As noted in another thread, a "top -uw" could help show what's going on here. If one of the active processes looks like your /bin/sh or libtool command, it could just be that it's taking a long time. If on the other hand there's no such process, or it's dormant or something, then yeah maybe something is wrong. FWIW though, gtkhtml built properly for me :/
