One of the problems, as I understand it, is that Sawfish in
rootless mode has no way to give you access to the system
menus. Typically, the Sawfish system menus are opened when you
click on the root window (the background). In rootless, mode
there's no way to do that, is there?

I believe that Fink's specially cooked version of
blackbox-rootless was hacked to fasten the system menus to the
taskbar to get around this problem.

I'm sure that one could a similar thing in Sawfish: provide some
sort of default on-screen widget that would provide some place to
click to open up the system menus.

I'm not the guy to *do* this mind you; but I figured I would at
least point it out, since no-one seems to have done it already.
