Alternatively, you can use Fink to install a different version of g77 that
will not conflict with the rest of the Fink packages. Before I started
using Fink, I had manually installed several applicatoins from source
(vim, pine, mysql, postgresql, etc), but I've replaced almost all of them
with the Fink maintained versions -- if for no other reason than doing so
makes it easy to keep up with current versions of everything.
