Folks: This is probably the number one "problem" reported to the mailing lists. It usually goes like this:
I tried to install package "foo" and the install can't find the tarball - what should I do? 99.9% of the time the simple solution is "fink selfupdate-cvs" and try again. Fink packages are very dynamic, and change frequently between releases. The names and URLs of source tarballs frequently change. Users should always first try updating the package descriptions in CVS when they encounter any problems installing a package. More than likely the problem has already been fixed. In this case, xpdf has been updated to 1.00. -Jeff On Fri, 26 Apr 2002, Chris Devers wrote: > On Fri, 26 Apr 2002, Duncan Smith wrote: > > > It can't find the file where it's looking -- is there something I should > > update, or does it exist at all? > > First, you need to do "fink info xpdf" to find out who maintains the > package.
