Which file was not found? Fink itself, or the mplayer package, or the
mplayer file itself? You should see something like this:

  % ls -la /sw/bin/{fink,mplayer}*
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 4439 May 13 09:13 /sw/bin/fink
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 9728 May 13 10:59 /sw/bin/mplayer
  -rwxr-xr-x 1 root admin 1519440 Apr 5 22:41 /sw/bin/mplayer.real

Does your result not match that?

Did you try rebuilding mplayer?

Yes, please. It's not really possible to answer questions without a
clearer sense of what is going wrong, what exact changes were done
since it last worked, etc. Elaborate, man! :)

Also, this smells more like a -users question to me than a -devel
question, unless you really think the problem is more fundamental
than I'm picking up on. I'm sending the reply to that list...
