I've used gimp-1.2.3-8 recently to resize some JPEGs. I didn't have any problems with it. I've got orbit-0.5.15-2 (& splitoffs), gtk+-1.2.10-10 (& splitoffs) and readline-4.2a-5 installed as well. I haven't seen any obvious problems with any of them.
