thank you for all the info on this topic. somehow i think we're a little 
off topic for the fink list so this is just a last short note. chimera 
(from mozdev.org) is available as an executable (download a .dmg) or as 
source. the executable chashes with the startup splash screen, compiling 
the source i get errors with both gcc2 and gcc3. so if you succeeded in 
building it, erik, i'd apprechiate any hints. thank you aall nyway for 
all the info,
