I've used/installed fink/finkcommander on a few machines now and have run into a roadblock on X Window Managers.
On the various machines, I've found and/or created ~/.xinitrc to change window managers. This has seemed to work for enabling me to change from WindowMaker to Enlightenment to Icewm. However, I have fink-installed both Sawfish and Oroborus and can't seem to activate those. When I edit .xinitrc to "exec sawfish" or "exec oroborus" Darwin self-quits (for Sawfish) or starts but there is no evidence of an X Window environment, except for the X-shaped cursor (for Oroborus). Also, when in Icewm, the Window Managers popup men in the dock does *not* list Sawfish or Oroborus, just the other three. Selecting one of those three does toggle window managers successfully, though. What am I missing? -ms -- Many have Montana envy ... the lucky get to live here!
