Hello,
recently I have been getting this problem using dselect. When i try to
update i get this message:
install-info: unrecognized option `--infodir=/sw/share/info'
Try `install-info --help' for a complete list of options.
dpkg: warning - old pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
dpkg - trying script from the new package instead ...
install-info: unrecognized option `--infodir=/sw/share/info'
Try `install-info --help' for a complete list of options.
dpkg: error processing
/sw/var/cache/apt/archives/gettext_0.10.40-3_darwin-powerpc.deb
(--unpack):
subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
install-info: unrecognized option `--infodir=/sw/share/info'
Try `install-info --help' for a complete list of options.
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
  /sw/var/cache/apt/archives/gettext_0.10.40-3_darwin-powerpc.deb
E: Sub-process /sw/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Some errors occurred while unpacking. I'm going to configure the
packages that were installed. This may result in duplicate errors
or errors caused by missing dependencies. This is OK, only the errors
above this message are important. Please fix them and run [I]nstall again
Press enter to continue.

any ideas what i can do?
Tavis
It's not a typo. There really is no R in my name. Blame my parents.
