Should I consider installing all or part of Bundle-dbi (includes dbd-mysql) from http://www.heavyhosting.net/AppToolkit/index.html?main=downloads.html, instead of using Fink? I've already installed the dbi partion with Fink.

Thanks. 2) I also want to thank the Fink community for providing this incredible tool to us new-to-Unix Mac-ers! 3) While installing dbd-mysql-pm, on my way to installing MySQL Data Manager (a graphical web shell to MySQL, not currently available as a Fink or Darwin package), I got the following error: Welcome to Darwin! [Y/n] n Failed: Dependencies not satisfied [bgm-24-24-65-156:~] marc% I was surprised and concerned that Fink wanted to install MySQL again, as I have a functioning MySQL inatall on my machine, built from Marc Liyanage's excellent OS X-proven binary for MySQL 4.0.0-alpha found at http://www.entropy.ch/software/MacOSx/mysql/. My working theory is that the path expressions for the 4.0 install differs from those in the 3.23.49-1 or -2 in the current Fink mysql package. Can anyone tell me for sure if I'm right and suggest a workaround, so I don't have to back out my 4.0 installation? FYI, I've got almost no data in MySQL 4 right now; I'm just afraid, at my minimal level of experience, to uninstall it or have two versions on my machine. It took some trial and error to get it running. Also, MySQL 4.0 has some features I believe I'll need for my production application when it leaves development and MySQL 4.0 reaches release stability.
