Hi there, just to let you know that my Fink installation (sw tree) is on a different partition (/Volumes/Apps/sw in my case) but have a /sw symlink on the OS X system partition. I have this since 4 months now and had no glitches whatsoever (ever). It's not a fix in that it looks like it is not a problem ;-)
