Try "fink list emacs" and you'll see that fink includes a whole bunch of 
different emacs versions, in particular
emacs-carbon     21.1-4
emacs21          21.2-6
xemacs           21.5.4-2

I am using xemacs all the time, and I can assure you that it is as 
christmastree-like as any emacs you can find.
