I got this working. I did a self-update/update-all, but it still
failed after that. I then tried a fink rebuild bundle-kde-ssl and it
seems to be working (I'm about 20 hours into the install, it's up to
compiling koffice -- way past where it ever got before). Not sure
what might've caused the problem. Of all the packages bundle-kde-ssl
installs I already had kdelibs3-ssl, kdelibs3-ssl-dev, libart2 and
libart2-shlibs installed. I guess one of those packages was acting
weird and was fixed by the rebuild.

Oh and thanks for the info that putting a computer to sleep won't
harm the compile process -- worked like a charm for me.

And finally - I'm using the unstable tree and the latest XFree86-base
and rootless compiled and installed fine. Seems a lot faster to me.
I didn't use the old one long enough to really find bugs, so i've no
idea if it fixed anything else.

Kevin
