That's odd, because I just did a 'fink update emacs21' using the 21.2-8 info and patch files the other day (*after* doing a selfupdate-cvs and update-all), and had no problems at all. In fact, I did it on my desktop, and my laptop. Both machines are running 1.1.5, with the April dev tools. The desktop has fink's autoconf25 installed, the laptop is using the native 2.13, not the fink package. The desktop is using the fink built m4, the laptop the Apple native one. I was able to build and install the 21.2-8 package from source after copying the info and patch files over to the local dists tree.
