Thomas: vim builds fine for me in 10.2.  Perhaps you need to rebuild
ncurses?  Maybe you didn't update to the 10.2 dev tools?  What versions of
gtk+ and xfree86-base do you have? These are just shots in the dark -
obviously somehow your environment is different than mine.
