Hi. This problem is fixed in the latest system-tetex, but probably not in the
binary version. I'm afraid you need to install the Apple Developer Tools to get
the ranlib command.
As an alternative, you *might* be able to install a more recent system-tetex
without the Developer Tools, I'm not sure if it will work. If you want to try
that, try issuing the command "fink selfupdate-cvs" followed by "fink install
system-tetex".
