Could someone point me at something that describes how virtual packages are supposed to work? I've looked in the online docs and FAQ and can't find anything. I assume that they are dependancy placeholders that are there for stuff that already comes on the system, but it's not clear on how to use them.
For example, the virtual package that I'm looking at is 'dialog'. Is that something that is already installed on the system? If so where is it?
