well, i do

[ThisAddressDoesNotExist:~] username% fink rebuild xpdf

then I get normal messages fro gcc/make/etc until:

g++ -g -O2 -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I.. -I./../goo -I.  -I/usr/X11R6/include  -c

Bit odd. bash works fine.
