Sorry for the off topic post but I ran out of places to turn, and coming
from a linux background I am used to looking to the community for help.
I have a Ti G4 Powerbook (500) recently upgraded to 10.2 (fresh install
tonight).

I am trying to use MP3 cds that I have made but am unable to get them
mounted properly so that I may view/use their contents. I have tried
different cds, cds from different manufacturers (Maxell, Sony, etc.), I
have tried different aged cds, I have tried cds burnt in different
burners (HP7200 and Plextor 12/10/32A). The cds work in Windows 98 and
Red Hat Linux 6.x-7.4/8.0beta. cds made in the same two burners of the
same brands as regular audio cds work and will play fine in iTunes,
regular file cds (for instance Win98 SE instal disk just to test) work.
Which is why I am so baffled by this....

I put a cd in the drive, the drive spins up, then spins down, and then
sits there, no error message, does not show up on desktop, doesn't lock
machine up, iTunes will launch but does not recognize the cd and will
not eject it. Upon further inspection the automounter seems to realize
that a cd was loaded as it creates the following:

/Volumes/MP306182000
/Volumes/MP306182000/.autodiskmounted (zero byte file)

where MP306182000 is the title from the disk.

And the following is placed in /var/log/system.log:

Sep 25 22:58:54 Brian-J-Millers-Computer /sbin/autodiskmount[191]:
disk1s0 udf no no MP306182000 [not mounted]
Sep 25 22:58:55 Brian-J-Millers-Computer /sbin/autodiskmount[191]:
DiskVolume_mount_foreign: unrecognized return code from
foreignMountDevice: -4
Sep 25 22:58:55 Brian-J-Millers-Computer /sbin/autodiskmount[191]:
disk1s0 udf no no MP306182000 [not mounted]

Thanks for any help anyone can provide it is greatly appreciated, even
if you can point me to another resource that I can look for further info.
