Sorry for the confusion. What I meant was that libxml2 and readline 
were installed along with anacron, but not the most recent version 
(FinkCommander lists them as 'outdated').

However, I see the most recent .deb files listed on a sourceforge 
mirror. Maybe by accident I hadn't enabled the unstable tree yet. 
I'll check that later at home.
