Thanks for the suggestion to build xfree86-rootless with fink install...

After issuing:

        [G3:/Users/joe] joe# fink install xfree86-rootless

I was warned that this package depended on dlcompat and xfree86-base,
and I told fink to go build those too.

The make file was chugging along happily but after an hour+, I had to
go to bed. When I came back in the morning, here's the end of what I
saw:

ln -sf
/sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/x11-system/xfree86-base_4.2.0.1-2_darwin-powerpc.deb

The console was waiting on a <return> and when I provided it, cc gave
the following error:

cc: no input files

I'm guessing that the remaining build took over an hour and my
display went to sleep. My cpu is set never to go to sleep, so I'm
puzzled as to how that can affect a build.

What is the best way to recover? Should I start again with a new

        fink install xfree86-rootless

perhaps deleting a few first? Is there a shortcut?

Thanks, -Joe
