Fink relies on being the only program which installs things in the /sw directory. The OpenOSX folks "borrowed" files compiled with Fink, and install them in /sw without using Fink. This breaks Fink. If you already have files in the /sw directory, either remove them before installing Fink (you must remove the entire /sw directory), or else during Fink installation you can install to a different location. However, if you install to a different location you won't be able to use the binary distribution in Fink.
