I'm not 100% sure about the details:  I just installed it based on the
description.

What I've found is that the linefeeds don't always show up:  I get them
when I paste into evolution, pico supresses them, and emacs (21.1.1 or
21.2.1) either supresses them (when pasting into a normal file) or puts
them in but doesn't show them (when pasting into a Mac text file in Mac
mode, which hides the linefeeds).
