[Fink-users] xttitle nuisance

I just installed the 'xttitle' program, which works nicely, and provides me with the option to set a title on my terminal windows.

However, there is one little nuisance with the program: If I do

my-prompt% xttitle "A quite long title"

the next prompt looks like

my-prompt% g title
^

It seems like xttitle, in addition to setting the title as the new Terminal title, echoes it to the terminal... where it is subsequently over-written by the prompt. Have anyone else seen this behavior, and is there a remedy?
