Try sudo halt that usually works for me :)

"shutdown now" --- my system goes in the darwin console ;(
"shutdown -h now" ---- not going ?!?
"halt" --- that�s for me not shutdown ... thats halt like killall -9 ?!?
so what is the right command to shutdown my system..??
