This is sort of a hack-type fix, but try putting these lines in your .xinitrc file: # Keymappings for the Keypad # NOTE: numlock does not really do anything now xmodmap -e "keysym KP_Decimal = period" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_Enter = Return" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_Add = plus" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_Subtract = minus" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_Multiply = asterisk" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_Divide = slash" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_Equal = equal" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_0 = 0" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_1 = 1" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_2 = 2" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_3 = 3" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_4 = 4" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_5 = 5" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_6 = 6" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_7 = 7" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_8 = 8" xmodmap -e "keysym KP_9 = 9" This will render the keypad usable to enter numbers, although if you need special keypad functionality you won't get it (i.e. the clear button won't work). This is because what we're really doing is mapping the keys that don't work (in the keypad) onto ones that do work (the numbers above the qwerty keys). Using xmodmap: if you have doubt as to the correct "keysym" word to use (slash for instance) try using xev. Man xev for more information. - -- Erik P.S. A similar strategy could be used with the num lock key, only I have no idea was sort of function it should serve that could be replicated with another key on the keyboard. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE9wsh96jwIlDfhHxgRAtuCAJ9EDgqD7y26j7GidrTBM0iMhtHtQACgyVdj 7e2W50USrPl7OmouAvfoeAs= =wE/N -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: See the NEW Palm Tungsten T handheld.
