The purpose of the .tcshrc reference was to set the LC_ALL environment variable, correct? I'm assuming from the instructions that not having this set would produce multiple 'annoying error messages' when running any script. I've already exported that variable in my .zshenv (I'm using zsh) and have verified that it is correctly set to C. And the rest of my perl scripts run just fine.
