Well that helped. Apperantly I had not run the /sw/lib/fink/postinstall.pl script when I updated to 10.2. However I'm now having this error when trying to do a selfupdate after the fix.

Assuming you did the fink update for 10.2, then the next thing to check
is whether /sw/fink/10.2 actually exists on your system, and that
/sw/fink/dists is a symlink to /sw/fink/10.2 .
