OK, here's what I think is happening: you are getting CVS updates from the 0.5.0a.cvs distribution, but Fink will not actually use them because those updates go into the 10.2 tree not the 10.1 tree. Admittedly this is a bit confusing, and I'm sorry that I didn't anticipate that this was going to happen.
(You will also get any CVS updates from the 10.1 tree going directly into the 10.1 tree; 10.2-only users won't get that.) On the plus side, if you ever do update to 10.2, your Fink installation will be ready to go: just do "fink reinstall fink" after the upgrade and you'll be set. -- Dave P.S.
