This is somewhat in response to the recent thread on release time and
quality of fink. I am of the view exactly opposite of the first post.
I was waiting on fink for months, I wish it was release long ago. Then
I decided to just bite the bullet and do the unstable cvs thing, and I
am happier for it.
My background is heavy in unix. I'm one of the apple switchers who
wanted all the commercial software that a commercial end-user os had to
offer(other than windows) and unix abilities and cygwin just wasn't
cutting it for me. Projects like fink are what helped me to choose
apple.
Fink developers are doing an excellent job. My only complaint is that
I can't contribute to the project more. I don't know where to start.
Thanks Finkers,
