Many carbon apps use old-style resource forks that are still supported
by OS X, but not by tar.
Seems as though fink's policy is to not support resource forks, and I
personally think that's a good idea. Also to note, that fink uses
non-resource-fork compatible tools to download all the sources and
binaries, so it's no big surprise that they're not there.
