(yeah, I know its in a bad... sorry, "very" bad inconsistent state... LOL
I do appreciate the sense of humor that seems to have been designed into many of the messages fink gives me. Even during package compiles, its clear that some very witty people design this stuff :0)

The problem with the instructions that dpkg is giving you is that
system-xfree86 won't install if you have the fink xfree86* packages
installed.
Yeah, and I kept trying to think of a fink command to do this, so I overlooked going straight to dpkg...
