I didn't notice a "in the way" message/problem, but I am having a pain in the neck with the update of ncurses:

The following 4 packages will be installed or updated:
apt apt-shlibs dpkg ncurses
dpkg -i /sw/fink/dists/stable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/base/ncurses_5.2- 9_darwin-powerpc.deb
(Reading database ... 4077 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace ncurses 5.2-8 (using .../ncurses_5.2-9_darwin-powerpc.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement ncurses ...
dpkg: error processing /sw/fink/dists/stable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/base/ncurses_5.2- 9_darwin-powerpc.deb (--install):
unable to make backup link of `./sw/share/terminfo/1/1178' before installing new version: Too many links
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:

Any suggestions?
