Thanks for the response Ben. I'm fairly confident I ran that script
before I started the whole process-- I should have mentioned that in the
original message. Are there are other viable options besides starting
this process from scratch or switching to another X server? Just
compiling a single KDE app (karm) plus all the dependencies takes
several days on my 300 Mhz G3.
