My guess is that it is. I was unable to reproduce the error in my hacked environment, in which I have changed the Motif symlink (/sw/lib/libXm.2.dylib) to use an old version (from a fink4 installation I had lying around), which incidentally gets rid of the aforementioned lockup problem. However, when I changed the symlink back tot he fink5 version of the Motif libraries, I was able to reproduce the bus error on a split pane. Apparently, there was a serious regression in Motif/Lesstif/WhateverMotifWeAreUsing.
