What does your ~/.xinitrc look like?� The documentation suggests this:
�� source /sw/bin/init.sh
�� exec /sw/bin/startkde >/tmp/kde.log
I have several xinitrc files based on the one in /etc/x11/xinit
It did not have the source line. I have corrected that.

There are plenty of people who ignore HTML mail as well, you may want
to change your mail client to send regular text, instead.
This is true. But since I'm between webhosts and thus email addresses, AOL is my client and well lets face it, AOL sucks.
