I don't know if this is the right forum, but I really want to make this work, and I don't know where else to ask, and it involves getting the fink-installed tools working for me, so...
Summary: I need to be able to run my s/w devel environment from inside Terminal. I'm getting killed by things like: I can't get home/end/pageup/pagedown passed to the shell or curses applications. If I do a ":sp start-of-file-name" and type TAB to do file name completion, I get ^I displayed. If I do a ":sp" I get two windows, but ^w^w should switch between them, and it silently does nothing. ^u at a command line prompt does nothing. I have tried iTerm. It appears to have many of the same problems (+display bugs, +segved 1 minute after running the latest version). So far, xterm is the only thing that seems to work for me. Is it what people are using? The problems I have with xterm is I can find no way to switch between running xterms from the keyboard (this is the window managers job, and quartz-wm doesn't have any (documented) way to do this). I really don't want to have to wave a mouse to get between windows. Is there another way? Any help, or pointers would be *very* appreciated. Also, is anybody running konqueror? Safari has some fairly irritating habbits, and I'd like to bring my bookmark file across from old box.
