With the latest update to kde3-1, I am seeing lockups for the first time, hard lockups where the box no longer pings on my local net.
I find it happens about 2-3 minutes after kde startup. I also find that if I don't start up konqueror, it no longer happens. I don't know if possibly it was konqueror's interaction with a new web page; the newest active page when this manifested was ebay, which shouldn't cause this. The other web pages had been up on konqueror for days (ones about the Zaurus PDA).
I also have a couple of console sessions going, with 3-6 console sessions going on each, and about 6 ssh sessions going. the only other thing is 4 eterms (little activity, used for housekeeping). No native mac apps going, latest 10.2.4, 1G of RAM, lots of disk.
Anyone else seeing this?
Were you running KDE from unstable previous to updating?
'cause the only difference in the latest ones is changes to arts (and I was then forced to update kdelibs and base because of dependencies).
If you go into the control panel and look at your sound settings, does it still say it's using the CoreAudio driver? If so, try changing it to esound instead.
Also, are you running in "thousands of colors" mode? Some X11's have problems with that, you can try changing to millions instead and see if it helps.
