Just wanted to let you know that it worked fine for me. I'm up-to-date with the unstable tree and have the base part of KDE 3.1 and gnome installed. fix-fink reported only gnome-libs-shlibs using the outdated libpng. After rebuilding it, fix-fink is happy (and I'm, too).
However, there is a minor issue if there are no packages to be rebuild:
$ fix-fink [SNIP] Some of your installed packages were linked against an outdated version of libpng (version 1.0.12), and should be rebuilt. The list of affected packages is:
You can rebuild these by issuing the command "fink rebuild" followed by the
package names. Do you wish to do this now (automatically)? [Y/n]
Despite the fact that there are no packages, I'm asked to rebuild them. This can be confusing.
